CMC Spraybooths - Articles
What is a Spraybooth/Oven?
A spraybooth is a manufactured room 7 x 4 meters to apply paint to the surfaces of various products. The spraypainter will apply the paint onto the product and the fans circulating air through the enclosure will remove the over spray from this isolated room. The next advantage is that all booths are fitted with color correction lights which assists the operator to see what he is doing and having the closest look at colors other than in the sun light. The third and very important feature of a booth is that it can bake the product to ensure a better and clearer finish. Booths can bake from 23 degrees Celsius to well over 100 degrees Celsius for certain applications. Baking a product for 20-30 minutes ensures that the product can be toughed, but the paint is not totally cured at this stage. The products or vehicle must be left to cure naturally preferably overnight.
